Macel Janoschka is Nominated for Women of Achievement Award

Attorney Macel Janoschka was recently nominated for a Women of Achievement Award presented by the Girl Scouts of Virginia Skyline.  Twenty women from the Roanoke Valley, New River Valley and City of Lynchburg were nominated.  All of the nominees share a dedication and commitment to improving the quality of life in the region.  They were chosen for their significant impact on the community as well as their enhancement of the community through volunteer and/or professional activities.

Macel has been active both in the community and in professional activities.  She is a Past President of the Junior League of Roanoke Valley and is a past member of the Board of Directors for Family Service of Roanoke Valley. She currently serves as the President of the Salem Council of PTAs and on the Board of Directors for both Mill Mountain Theatre and Roanoke Bar Association.  As a Director of the Roanoke Bar Association she serves as Community Service Co-Chair and as the liaison to the Rule of Law Project. Macel is also a member of the grants committee for Turn The Page, Inc. and volunteers regularly with their Books and Breakfast program.

She focuses her practice on civil litigation, particularly in the areas of insurance defense, medical malpractice, premises liability, automobile liability and workers’ compensation. She has served on the boards of numerous non-profits in the Roanoke Valley, and is a Past President of the Junior League of Roanoke Valley. She has been active with both the local bar through the Roanoke Bar Association and with the Virginia State Bar where she previously served on the Virginia State Bar’s Young Lawyers’ Conference Board of Governors.
