John Johnson prevails in two day civil rights trial in US District Court in Danville, Virginia.

The plaintiff alleged that a County Sheriff, his senior deputy, and five other deputies, all violated his civil rights by conspiring to “take him down” because of his participation in local political activities within a local Virginia County. Johnson obtained summary judgment in favor of the Sheriff and the five other deputies in July of 2018.  The case proceeded to trial against the senior deputy only on a claim under 28 U.S.C. Section 1983.  Plaintiff alleged that the senior deputy violated the plaintiff’s constitutional rights under the 4th Amendment. Following a lengthy two day trial, a jury returned a verdict in favor of FA+P’s client, rejecting the plaintiff’s claims.
