Attorney Workowski Prevails on Coverage Dispute

The Roanoke City Circuit Court recently ruled that a woman who “intended” to live with her grandfather could not recover uninsured motorist coverage under her grandfather’s policy for a motorcycle accident that occurred a day after she dropped off her belongings at his house.  Plaintiff’s grandfather had two policies available, and she sought UIM/UM coverage under both.  Attorney Sean Workowski represented one of the UIM carriers in relation to its position that Plaintiff was not entitled to coverage as she was merely a visitor to her grandfather’s house and not a member of the household.  The Court agreed and concluded that Plaintiff did not qualify for UIM/UM coverage.

Sean’s primary focus is civil litigation, particularly in the areas of insurance defense, transportation, insurance coverage, products liability, premises liability, and subrogation.
