The FA+P medical malpractice team is pleased to share that their physician client and his radiology practice earned a defense verdict following a five-day jury trial in April 2023.

Attorneys Matt Kelley and Sam Bernier presented evidence showing their clients appropriately read a CT/CTA looking for an aortic dissection. Plaintiff alleged our clients failed to detect a leaking aneurysm that indicated a dissection was impending. The plaintiff contended that an improper interpretation led to the patient’s death five days later.

Defense experts disagreed and provided evidence that the CT/CTA was appropriately interpreted and did not show leaking blood. After deliberation, the jury found for the defendants.
